Burghfield AWE (UK) blockaded

On Monday 19th May, Burghfield Atomic Weapons Establishment in the UK was blockaded by anti-nuclear activists.  Eight activists (including two WRI members of staff!) locked themselves together using concrete tubes, heavily disrupting the base for over four hours. The action was part of Action AWE (www.actionawe.org), a grassroots nonviolent direct action campaign acting to halt nuclear weapons production at the Atomic Weapons Establishment.
