War Resisters’ International, Connection e.V. and DFG-VK Hesse call for an International Day of Action for imprisoned Egyptian conscientious objector, critic of the military and blogger Maikel Nabil Sanad. We ask groups and organisations to join the actions on 2 September 2011: Free Maikel Nabil Sanad.

Egyptian pacifist and blogger Maikel Nabil Sanad needs our support. Sentenced to three years' imprisonment for criticising the military, his ongoing imprisonment symbolises the challenges the Egyptian revolution is facing - overcoming the power of the military.

War Resisters'International, Connection e.V., and DFG-VK Hesse are now calling for an international day of action in support of Maikel Nabil Sanad on 9 September 2011. Please help us make this day a success, and organise an action in your town - be it a vigil, an information stall, letter writing, or a nonviolent direct action.
