Harry Mister died in London on 26 January, just a fortnight after his 92nd birthday. Harry was a key figure in many parts of the peace movement including, but not only, the pacifist end of the movement - for over 70 years.

He was one of the original members of the Peace Pledge Union from the 1930s; he was one of the group which founded Peace News in 1936, and one of those who set up Housmans Bookshop in 1945; he established the Housmans Peace Diary and Peace Directory in 1954; and he was the manager of both Peace News and Housmans for many years.

Until early January 2006, he was still involved as secretary of Peace News Trustees, the parent company of Peace News and Housmans, which owns the building which houses them (and WRI) at Kings Cross.
