USA - Remembering WRI in your will

en

I haven't made a will yet, how should I proceed?

Please use the sample bequest language below to leave money to War Resisters' International in your will in the USA.

(A) Outright Bequest: If you wish War Resisters' International to receive a specific dollar amount or a percentage of the estate. "I hereby give to the War Resisters League International Fund, whose principal U.S. office is currently located at 339 Lafayette St, New York, NY 10012, the sum of _____ dollars (or ______% of the total value of my estate)."

(B)Residuary Bequest: If you wish War Resisters International to receive all or a portion of the remainder of an estate, after all debts, taxes, expenses, and other gifts have been paid. "I hereby give to the War Resisters League International Fund, whose principal U.S. office is currently located at 339 Lafayette St, New York, NY 10012, all (or ______%) of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate."

(C) Contingent Bequest: If circumstances make it impossible to carry out your primary provisions (as when your spouse or other heirs do not survive you), a contingent bequest ensures that property will pass to War Resisters International rather than to unintended beneficiaries (i.e. the government). "If any of the above-named beneficiaries should predecease me, I hereby give his or her share of my estate to War Resisters League International Fund, whose principal U.S. office is currently located at 339 Lafayette St, New York, NY 10012.".

I already have a will, how can I change it to include WRI? Please contact your solicitor, and inform them that you would like to change your Will, or add a codicil to it, possibly using the language above.
