Le MAN poster for the speaking tour

The Movement for a Non-Violent Alternative (MAN) in Lyon, together with the Raja Tikva Association, is hosting two young Israeli conscientious objectors, Itamar Greenberg and Soul Behar Tsalik, on a tour of France from 13 to 28 November 2025.

Their presence offers a rare and valuable testimony to the courage it takes to say no to institutionalised violence in Israel, grounded in a deep ethical conviction: true security cannot come from war. They represent a generation of young Israelis who reject their government’s abuses against Palestinians and affirm that there can be no lasting peace in Israel without the recognition of Palestinian rights. Both are activists with Mesarvot, a network of Israeli conscientious objectors opposing the occupation.

A tour to dialogue, understand, and act for peace

From 13 to 28 November 2025, the two young objectors will meet the public across France. Organised by local MAN groups, the tour will include debates, conferences, student meetings, and public discussions on peace in the Middle East — how to envision it, live it, and build it in concrete ways. During the speaking tour, Itamar and Soul will share their personal reasons for refusing military service and their experiences of how Israel treats those who speak out against its government.
