Prisoners for Peace Day: Stand in Solidarity on December 1st
On December 1st, Prisoners for Peace Day, we stand in solidarity with conscientious objectors and activists imprisoned for their work against war and its preparations. On this day, we share the stories and names of those detained for their work for peace, human rights, and commitment to nonviolence, and invite you to show solidarity by sending letters to them. By recognizing their efforts, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting those resisting nonviolence for a peaceful future, even from behind bars.
Prisoners for Peace Day is an opportunity to raise awareness and call for the release of those unjustly imprisoned. You can find the list of prisoners here.
How you can take action:
- Send letters: Reach out to imprisoned peace activists to express your support and solidarity. Check this list for more information.
- Share their stories: Amplify the voices of prisoners for peace on your social media. Use the hashtag #PfPday24 and post your messages of solidarity.
- Attend events: Participate in or organise card writing sessions, local vigils or demonstrations to show solidarity.
Let's this day serve as a reminder that the struggle for peace and nonviolence continues. On this day and everyday, join us in supporting conscientious objectors, nonviolent activists, and Prisoners for Peace.
