Welcome to Jen!

We are very excited to welcome Jen to War Resisters' International's office. Jen started her one year Peaceworker placement in September. Jen says:

I am very honoured to be part of WRI. I will be based in the London office, working on the Countering the Militarisation of Youth programme.

I have just started, in early September, I have gained this opportunity through the British Quakers Peaceworker scheme, which means I will be working with WRI for the next year.

A bit of background about me, prior to this, I have worked with a range of different groups on diverse issues including, supporting refugees, first aid classes to children and homelessness. With the Movement For The Abolition War, Youth group, we examined the impact of militarism in UK schools. All these areas have a UK  focus, but my educational background has more international focus. I have a degree in Peace Studies and International Relations and a Masters in Journalism.

This year is going to be great a learning experience, a chance to understand what issues you are facing in your countries and I hope to learn from you all and to share ideas. As I am fascinated about exploring how to share information and to engage and empower people in very creative ways.
