As hundreds of arms dealers prepared to gather for the annual European Defence Agency conference, hundreds of posters appeared throughout the European quarter in Brussels protesting the arms industry and its CEOs’ complicity in arming dictatorial regimes and in the militarisation of European borders. Airbus, BAE Systems, MBDA, FN Herstal and Leonardo were some of the companies that were targeted by the action.

The European Defence Agency annual conference is an opportunity for the defence industry to gather with European policy makers and take "European Defence Cooperation to the Next Level”. A Freedom of Information request filed by Vredesactie - one of WRI's affiliate's in Belgium - shows that more than 230 arms company representatives received an invitation to the conference.
