WRI activists found not guilty in arms trade protest

Eight activists in London – including members of Vredesactie and Agir Pour La Paix – were found not guilty in April, having been arrested in September 2015 during nonviolent direct action to obstruct the world's biggest arms fair. The activists had all locked themselves to vehicles or obstructed the roads around the Excel Centre, where the DSEi arms fair is held, and successfully argued in court that they had acted to stop war crimes and illegal weapons sales, including Saudi Arabia's well documented targeting of civilians in Yemen, and repression of peaceful protest in Bahrain.
