Activists around the world have been on trial for nonviolently resisting war.

In the USA, the Transform Now Plowshares affinity group were found guilty and sentenced to between 3 and 5 years each (Transform Now Plowshares are listed on WRI's 'Prisoners for Peace' list). In the UK, several 'Stop the Arms Fair' activists have been found not guilty or had their cases dropped, and Vredesactie – a WRI affiliate in Belgium – are on trial for a symbolic action in 2008.
