Practical information seminar War Profiteering and Peace Movement Responses

Interpretation:The seminar languages will be English and Spanish. If you don't understand one of these languages you will need to tune to our interpretation system. For this you need to bring your own radio receiver, it can be a normal radio, a mobile phone with a radio, or mp3 with a radio. Please don't forget it!

The seminar will take place at the Salesian Residence Martí-Codolar.

HOW TO ARRIVE

From El Prat airport:
By bus: Take “Aerobus” to Plaça Catalunya (Catalonia Square), which is the last stop. Take the number L3-Zona Universitària / Trinitat Nova from Metro stop Catalunya and after 8 stops get off at Montbau. From Catalunya to Montbau: Number of stops: 8, Waiting time: 3 min. Journey time: 13 min.

From Sants train station:
Take the number L3-Zona Universitària / Trinitat Nova from Metro stop Sants and after 15 stops get off at Montbau. From Sants to Montbau: Number of stops: 15, Waiting time: 3 min. Journey time: 25 min.

From Estació del Nord bus station:
Take the number L-1-Feixa Llarga from Metro stop Arc de Triomf and after 2 stops get off at Catalunya.
From Catalunya take the number L3-Zona Universitària / Trinitat Nova from Metro stop Catalunya and after 8 stops get off at Montbau. From Arc de triomf to Montbau: Number of stops: 10, Waiting time: 3 min. Journey time: 20 min.

HOSTEL RULES:

The organisation will only cover BREAKFAST & LUNCH + one bed in a shared room (2 people).
Meal times: Breakfast: 08-10 a.m. Lunch: 1.30pm. Dinner: 8.30 p.m. (it could be earlier) but not recommended by organisation because there are conferences from 7 p. m. to 9 p. m. in city the centre. If you need picnic, you must request it 24 hours in advance.

Rooms: It is not allowed to eat, to drink or smoke in the rooms. You must leave them before 11 a.m. on the last day of your stay. Martí-Codolar doesn't take responsibility of the missing or missed belongings.

Reception hours: The front-desk is open 24 hours. We request silence between 11 p.m. and 8 p.m. to respect the other guest's rest.
Furniture and animals: Furniture cannot be moved from its place, nor taken outside. We beg you to respect the gardens and the animals. It is not allowed to access the lawn.

Access to Internet: If you need access to Internet you can ask it at the reception.

Keys: All the keys must be handed in at the reception the day of your departure.

Towels and sheets: Are provided by the hostel. They will be changed every 3 days.

There is the possibility to have individual rooms, double or triple. The registration fee covers the cost of double and triple (is the same price), but not individual. If individual is your choice, you can pay the difference (around 7 euros per night).

Meals: Vegan, vegetarian, celiac meals can be provided if known 4 days in advance.
Check-in: Since 4 p.m., but it could be earlier if room is ready. Anyway, baggage can be guarded there.

Travel Guide to the XX Meeting “Trobada de Barcelona” at CCCB

1. FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE XX MEETING “TROBADA DE BARCELONA” AT CCCB

For the ones that find convenient due to time issues, to go straight from the airport to the Trobada (Thursday/19.00hrs) it’s possible by taking the “Aerobús” to one of the following stops:

• Option A: Aerobus to Plaça Catalunya.

• Choise B: Aerobus to Plaça de la Universitat.
  Map and instructions attached “Plaça de la Universitat to CCCB -Trobada- (English Version)”.

About the Aerobus (Barcelona Airport Express Bus)
There are several different transfer buses going to and from Barcelona Airport. The Aerobus is the Barcelona Airport express shuttle bus that takes people to and from the airport and the city centre.
Aerobuses look different to the standard Barcelona TMB buses. The Aerobuses for T1 and T2 are light and dark blue and have “Aerobus” written down the side in a bubbly style of writing.
Price: Tickets to both T1 and T2 cost €5.30 for a single and €9.15 for a return (return ticket valid for 9 days)
From Terminal 1 (T1): Aerobuses A1 from T1 leave from the front of the building. There are no ticket machines, so tickets can only be purchased from the driver once you get on the bus.

• 4. Plaça Universitat
• 5. Plaça Catalunya (City Centre)

From Terminal 2 (T2): There are buses at Barcelona Airport that stop at all of the three parts of T2 – T2A, T2B and T2C. It is easy to identify the Aerobus stops as they have a large blue machine where you can buy the Aerobus ticket. There is nearly always an Aerobus waiting outside one of the terminals and if not you will not have to wait more than 12 minutes for one to arrive.

Note: The other buses that are available for transfer between the airport and centre are the TMB Airport Bus Number 46 and the Night Bus N17 (operated by MOHN). These other buses are cheaper; however they are slightly slower, less frequent and provide less space for luggage.

2. FROM THE SALESIAN RESIDENCE MARTÍ-CODOLAR TO THE XX MEETING “TROBADA DE BARCELONA” AT CCCB

For the ones that are already at the residence:

Walk from the residence to the Metro Stop Montbau [Map and instructions attached: “Salesian Residence Martí-Codolar to Metro Montbau (English Version)”].
Take Line 3 (L3-Zona Universitària / Trinitat Nova) and after 8 stops get off at Catalunya. Waiting time: 3 min. Journey time: 13 min.
