Camping for peace! - Practical information for the ofog/WRI Council and camp in Luleå
The location of the large camp site during War Starts Here is now booked. We will be at, and around, “Sundet”, which is near the Lule River in Gäddvik, 5 km from Luleå bus station.
At the camping site there will be plenty of room for tents, trees for hammocks or camping cottages for those who want/need to sleep in a real bed. The climate network Klimax will fix compost toilets. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be cooked by the kitchen Automat. In the evenings those who want to can gather around the camp fires!
See the map (marked point) at http://kartor.eniro.se/m/a2TVx, where you can also see where the kitchen will be and where the seminar 23-24 July will be held.
When you arrive, you should come to the "Sundet", where registration will be. If you get lost, call +46768175501
Below we have gathered all the practical information you will need for the camp. If you have more questions, e-mail info@ofog.org.

1. Lodging
We will arrange different kinds of lodging in view of participants’ economy and needs. There will be accommodation in a camping site (bring tent, sleeping pad, sleeping bag), in local people’s homes (bring sleeping bag, sometimes sleeping pad), in a double room or cottage (bring bedding). Ofog has booked cottages and double rooms, but you have to pay yourself.
Prices:
Camping at Sundet: free!
Double room at Sundet: 360 SEK/day (36 euros) (tell us whether you are willing to share a room)
Bed in cottage at Sundet: 145 SEK/day (14,50 euros)
The number of booked beds is limited, so make sure to register as soon as possible if you want indoor lodging – first come, first served! If the beds for indoor lodging that Ofog has booked should run out, we can tell you about other places (youth hostels etc) in Luleå.
There are different kinds of lodging so that participants who need to sleep in a bed because of back problems (for example), or participants who need accessibility to get in with a wheelchair, should be able to participate on equal terms. If you have the need to stay in a double room or cottage but do not have the financial means to pay yourself, tell us in the registration form and we will help you.
2. Food
The kitchen Automat will be at the camp and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner for a cheap price. The food is vegan and mostly ecological. Let us know if you have an allergy.
For people who register with WRI, food is already included in the registration fee.
In Luleå there are of course a number of grocery stores, restaurants and cafés where you can buy food/snacks/coffee for yourself.
3. Infopoint
The infopoint is the place where you get answers to your questions and (hopefully) help with everything you need. There are always people there who are responsible for answering practical questions and contact various people at the camp. Go to the infopoint if you need medical care and it’s not an emergency. Information about the location of the infopoint will be announced later
4. Medical care
At the camp there will be a number of trained medical staff, doctors and nurses. They will be available via a medical care-phone if anyone needs help. In an emergency, always first call 112. If it’s not an emergency, call the medical care-phone or go to the infopoint for help. Pain pills and patches will be available at the infopoint.
5. Children
Children are welcome to War Starts Here. Children should be included in the camp, be listened to and taken seriously, and it’s their future we are making possible when we stop war. Tell us when you register if you are interested in taking care of children or if you need
child minding.

For the WRI Council, registration is highly recommended! You will find the registration form here.
