ISRAEL: Conscientious objector Igal Rosenberg again sentenced to 28 days imprisonment
War Resisters' International learned today that the Israeli conscientious objector Igal Rosenberg was again sentenced - this time to 28 days imprisonment - on Tuesday, 26 February. Igal Rosenberg was among the signatories of the open letter sent to Prime Minister Sharon at the beginning of September last year, signed by 62 Israeli youths who announced their refusal to cooperate with the Israeli occupation in Palestine. Igal Rosenberg spent 21 days in prison from 3-21 February 2002. He is the second of the signatories who is imprisoned for his political convictions (the first one was Yair Khilou - ISR11763 - who already served two prison terms of 28 days each).
