I was appalled to hear about the scandalous sentences imposed on the five conscientious objectors Noam Bahat, Matan Kaminer, Adam Maor, Haggai Matar and Shimri Tzameret. Furthermore I'm very concerned about the fact that conscientious objectors, men as well as women, are being prosecuted time and time again.
These objectors are convicted because of the call of their conscience or their opposition to Israel's policy of occupation in the Territories. The decision to use sanctions against them is politically motivated and thus unjustifiable.
I call upon you to nullify all decisions against conscientious objectors by military courts and judges. I also call upon you to stop the punishment of all objectors.
